SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Several professional rock climbers will be in Salt Lake City this weekend for activities that include removing graffiti in a popular canyon.
The climbers include Hazel Findlay and Joe Kinder. The Rock Project Tour is put on by Salt Lake City-based Black Diamond Inc., an outdoor gear manufacturer.
A round table discussion Friday night will explore many of the core issues facing the increasingly popular sport of rock climbing. Black Diamond says the number of rock climbing gyms in North America has doubled over the last 15 years.
The professional climbers will participate in events in the Salt Lake City area throughout the weekend.
The graffiti cleanup is scheduled for Sunday morning in the Boulders in the Little Cottonwood Canyon.
