DRAPER — The Loveland Living Aquarium is home to a variety of visually vibrant animals, fish, birds, reptiles and more.
On any given visit, you can watch sharks swim, see otters play, hear tropical birds chirrup and generally be awed by the sights and sounds of many creatures that inhabit our planet.
The aquarium houses three major exhibits:
Ocean Explorer houses creatures of the sea, including sharks that can be viewed as an immersive experience in the aquarium's shark tunnel and a two-tiered penguin tank. On days where you can’t get to the aquarium, you can still visit the penguins with the help of a live webcam.
Discover Utah displays all the wonders of the wildlife in Utah. The exhibit includes information on Utah’s endangered animals and what we can do to help our state’s creatures. It’s also home to the lively river otter exhibit.
Journey to South America may be the aquarium's most colorful exhibit. It includes tropical birds, a variety of colorful dart frogs and even piranhas with surprisingly golden scales.
The aquarium is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Its calendar also lists times when aquarium staff feed the sharks and penguins, in their separate enclosures, of course. For more information, visit its website.
