SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested a Midvale man Thursday in connection with the drug-related shooting death of a South Salt Lake man in December.
South Salt Lake police say Amar Miljkovic, 24, shot and killed Orlando Roybal in the area of 600 E. Leland Ave. during a minor drug deal on Dec. 4.
Miljkovic was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder and aggravated robbery. He was arrested near 1100 East and 7600 South in Midvale and later booked into jail without incident.
Roybal was present at a “street level” drug deal when he was fatally shot by Miljkovic, according to South Salt Lake Police Chief Jack Carruth.
Whitney Marie Connor, 27, of South Jordan, was arrested in December in connection with the shooting, but no charges were filed against her.

Roybal was a passenger in a vehicle. Police said Connor arranged with the driver to buy drugs in the area. When the vehicle that Roybal was in pulled up to the location, Connor got into the back seat.
When the drug deal was completed, Miljkovic opened the driver's side door, took several undisclosed items, reached around the driver and shot Roybal multiple times, according to a police report.
South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said Friday he was unsure whether the case against Connor was dropped.
