OREM — Police are investigating the cause of a crash that killed an Orem man early Monday.
Dan Jorgensen, 64, was driving north about 1:30 a.m. when he apparently veered across the southbound lanes and crashed into a pole near 142 S. State, Orem Police Chief Gary Giles said. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
"We're not entirely sure whether there was some kind of medical situation that preceded the accident, that's something we're looking into," Giles said Monday. "We have investigators out reconstructing the accident."
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and Jorgensen was alone in the vehicle, Giles said.
Impairment by drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, the chief said.
