Montana tops Weber State, 74-63, takes over 1st

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Martin Breunig scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Montana muscled its way past Weber State, 74-63 on Saturday night.

Montana (16-10, 12-3) moves a half-game ahead of Eastern Washington (11-3), which lost to Northern Arizona Saturday, to take the Big Sky Conference lead.

Brandon Gfeller and Riley Bradshaw both knocked down 3-pointers to help give Montana a 10-point lead in the final minute of the first half, but Ryan Richardson hit a 3-pointer to cut the Weber State deficit to seven, 36-29 at the break.

Breunig scored the first five points of the second half and the Grizzlies cruised to the win.

Jordan Gregory and Michael Weisner scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Montana.

Chris Golden scored 18 points to lead Weber State (11-15, 6-9). Richardson finished with 15 points and Richaud Gittens added another 12 while Joel Bolomboy grabbed 10 rebounds.
