SOUTH SALT LAKE — A woman was arrested Monday following a truck crash that closed the northbound on-ramp to I-15 at 3300 South. The female driver was apparently fleeing from police when the accident happened.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said a police officer made several attempts to stop the truck when he saw the concrete trailer attached to it dragging behind the vehicle. As the truck turned onto the I-15 on-ramp, the driver lost control, and the truck rolled on its side.

The woman got out, Hoyal said, and ran to a nearby Motel 6. Pursing police officers found her in one of the rooms, and she was arrested without incident, he said.

The truck was later determined to be stolen out of South Salt Lake, Hoyal said. He also said the driver had warrants out for her arrest.

The on-ramp was closed for about an hour but reopened Monday evening.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
