WEST VALLEY CITY — A 67-year-old man died in a crash that closed part of 3500 South in West Valley City Monday morning.

The man, identified as Michael Nielsen, was driving a jeep and pulled out of 4640 West when he was t-boned by a pickup truck westbound on 3500 South, police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said.

The jeep driver was killed, and the driver of the pickup was in serious condition.

Vainuku said 3500 South was expected to be closed from 4400 West to 4800 West for hours.
