SALT LAKE CITY — With Salt Lake Comic Con's second FanX event underway, organizers announced that Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher will be speaking at a 30-minute panel on the convention's final day.

Fisher, named as one of the first FanX guests when the event was announced in November, was not originally scheduled to make any panel appearances at the convention because of contractual obligations with the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film.

The panel is scheduled for noon Saturday in the South Ballroom of the Salt Palace Convention Center, where the three-day geek extravaganza is taking place. The panel is open to all ticketed attendees with first-come, first-served seating.

"This panel is a huge win for fans and a significant change, as it was originally expected Fisher would not be available for any panel activities," organizers said a release Friday.

Other top guests in the star-studded lineup include Matt Smith, who played the 11th doctor on BBC's long-running hit "Doctor Who"; Smith's co-stars, Billie Piper and Karen Gillan; Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films; and Christopher Lloyd of "Back to the Future."
