ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A southwest Utah woman has been arrested after police say she was passing counterfeit money in the St. George area.
Halei Ludlow of Hurricane originally was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility on Tuesday on three counts of theft by deception and three counts of forgery of a document.
Police say she passed three counterfeit $100 bills at the Wal-Mart in Washington City on three different occasions.
The (St. George) Spectrum reports that after further investigation, detectives determined Ludlow also allegedly passed counterfeit money at gas stations and a Wal-Mart in Hurricane. She subsequently was booked on suspicion of eight additional counts of forgery.
Her bail was set at $50,000.
