PROVO — Police are asking for help to identify a man who stole the cash drawer from a convenience store register Monday.

The man entered a Maverik located at 1410 S. University Ave. just before 1 a.m., according to the Provo Police Department.

“He grabbed the teller, directed her back to the cash registers and then forced her to open one of the registers before taking the cash drawer and leaving,” a post on the police department’s Facebook page reads.

Investigators described the man as being between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall. They said he appeared to weigh around 150 or 160 pounds and be in his late teens or early 20s.

Anyone who has information about the man or the case can contact the Provo Police Department by calling 801-852-6210.
