SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was hit and killed walking in a crosswalk Tuesday night in Rose Park.
The woman was crossing to the west side of 900 West near 700 North just before 6:30 p.m. when she was hit by the driver of a northbound SUV, Salt Lake Police Lt. Brian Purvis reported.
The woman was crossing at a marked midblock crosswalk, but the driver of the SUV didn't see her in the darkness, Purvis said. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were working to identify her Tuesday night.
