WEBER COUNTY — Officials said a stolen Utah State Park vehicle, which contained two guns, was recovered on Monday.

The pickup was stolen from a locked storage area at Willard Bay State Park either late Sunday night or early Monday morning, according to the Associated Press. The vehicle had two guns inside when it was stolen: a 12-gauge shotgun and an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

Utah State Parks Lt. Eric Stucki said the car was recovered in Weber County. Both guns were still inside the car and there was no immediate indication of damage to the vehicle, he said.

Because the investigation is ongoing and possible arrests are "in process," Stucki was unable to give specific details as to where or how the vehicle was found, but he said media coverage of the incident played a part.

"Because of the media, that's how we believe the lead came in," Stucki said. "The public does listen and it did work out great."

Stucki said more details would likely be forthcoming on Tuesday.
