LOGAN — Bowl season is over for the three FBS college football teams in Utah, with the Utes and Aggies leading the way to a 2-1 postseason record for the Beehive State.

One quarterback will make a brief Sugar Bowl appearance, though.

Injured Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton was one of 22 college football players who will be honored at halftime of Thursday's Sugar Bowl as a member of the 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Keeton and the other nominees, which include 11 FBS players, participated in several community-service events in the New Orleans area this week, including a children's event with the YMCA of Greater New Orleans.

Wyoming wide receiver Dominic Rufran was the only other player from the Mountain West Conference named to the Good Works Team.

Keeton played in three games for Utah State in 2014 before suffering a knee injury that kept him out for what would've been his senior season. The Aggie quarterback has 7,621 passing yards and 58 touchdowns on his career, ranking in the top three in school history in both categories.

The 2015 Sugar Bowl will serve as a national college football playoff semifinal between Alabama and Ohio State. The game will be televised on ESPN with a 6:30 p.m. MT kickoff.

Also for the Aggies, senior linebacker Zach Vigil announced this week he has accepted an invitation to play in the 90th East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Jan. 17. The game will kick off at 2 p.m. MT and air nationally on NFL Network.

Vigil is the 30th Utah State player to feature in the game, which most recently included NFL players Kerwynn Williams (2013) and Nevin Lawson (2014).
