ATLANTA (CNN) — You may have never heard of YouTube star Josh Paler Lin — but his videos almost always go viral.
The video prankster recently wanted to see what would happen if he gave a homeless man $100 cash. What happened left Lin speechless and the Internet inspired.
When Lin came up with the idea, it wasn't charity. He simply wanted to track how the homeless man would spend the cash.
Lin's video shows him hand the man a $100 bill, then leave with a promise from the man to spend the money well.
As Lin secretly filmed, the man went into a liquor store and came out with a bag full of goods. He headed to a nearby park and Lin followed.
Inside the bags? No liquor, just food. And the man began sharing it with others in need.
The act of kindness left Lin speechless. He went and apologized to the man for assuming he was going to waste the money.
The video, made with the idea of exposing the homeless, simply exposed a man who defied stereotypes.
"There's some things money can't by, and I get a happiness out of what I do," the man told Lin.
After Lin's video was posted to his YouTube page, a fund was created online to help the homeless man get back on his feet. In just a few days, more than $90,000 was raised.
