KEARNS — A 15-year-old boy remained in critical condition Wednesday night after being hit by an SUV that was involved in a previous accident. Friends and classmates of Dallas held a candlelight vigil at Kearns High School where he is a sophomore.

"He'll squeeze my hand and knows we're there but not much more,"said Tabatha, Dallas' sister.

Tabatha did not want her last name revealed. She says Dallas is suffering from a traumatic brain injury.

Tuesday morning police say the driver of the SUV tried to make a left-hand turn in front of oncoming car. The two collided. The SUV rolled a few feet before police say it hit Dallas.

"I was shocked to find out it was him," said Brianna Kristine, a friend.

Classmates describe him as a good friend.

"He's a really happy positive person," said Heaven Menlov, a classmate.

We're gonna fight this, and he's gonna come home.

His sister says he's a regular teen who enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing video games.

"The most amazing, funny just loving teen you'll ever meet, most caring, does the silliest things to put a smile on your face," said Tabatha.

And while his family doesn't know when he'll go home, they're not giving up.

"We're gonna fight this, and he's gonna come home," said Tabatha.

Medical bills have skyrocketed for the family. To help with those costs, *they've setup a gofundme account. You can find it here.
