WEST JORDAN — Police took two bank robbery suspects into custody shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, ending a "shelter in place" issued for residents living near 4000 West and 9000 South.

The two individuals were being sought in connection with the robbery of a Mountain America Credit Union at 6761 S. Redwood Road at around 6 p.m. They were eventually tracked to a West Jordan home and SWAT teams were called in.

"The SWAT team was able to communicate from outside the house, and both suspects gave up peacefully, eventually," said West Jordan police officer Ian Adams.

"It took several hours, but we were dedicated to resolving this peacefully," Adams said.

Detectives were questioning the suspects Tuesday night and Adams and they will release more details after those interviews are over.
