SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested a man with a knife who allegedly approached a 12-year-old actress backstage at the Off Broadway Theatre over the weekend.

Adam Robin Green, 33, of Salt Lake City, was arrested for investigation of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping Saturday night.

Police say Green entered the theater, 272 S. Main, and went into the restricted cast and crew area. There, he "waited for the 12-year-old victim to begin walking down a hallway at which time he stepped out behind her and got her attention," a Salt Lake County Jail report states.

When the young girl turned, she told police she saw Green holding a knife in his right hand. Green yelled, "Hey you," as the girl ran down the hallway away from him, according to the report.

A short time later, police were called to a disturbance near a Wendy's restaurant, 254 W. 400 South, where a man was acting "bizarre." Arriving officers said Green was talking to himself and "behaving strangely."

When the officers realized he matched the description from the Off Broadway Theatre incident, he was taken into custody.

Green is currently facing a charge or aggravated assault for a separate Nov. 1 incident, according to court records. In that case, Green allegedly threatened to "smash" his roommate's head for moving his chairs. He then hit his roommate on the head with a broom, attempted to hit him with a rock, strangled his roommate and extinguished a cigarette on his forehead, charging documents state.

Green was released from the Salt Lake County Jail on Dec. 1 to Pre-Trial Services pending his next court hearing, which was scheduled for next week.
