SEATTLE — Jennifer Hamson put away a career-high 30 kills to lift the 12th-ranked BYU women's volleyball team past sixth-seeded Florida State, 3-1 on Friday and advance to the regional final in Seattle.
Hamson scored on a .397 hitting percentage, and also tallied 10 digs and six blocks to lead the Cougars, who beat the Seminoles, 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 26-24 to advance to Saturday's regional final against No. 14 Nebraska.
BYU (28-4) trailed 24-21 in the fourth set, but a block by Hamson sprung a five-point run that secured the victory. Alohi Robins-Hardy supplied 37 assists and 15 digs, and Alexa Gray chipped in 12 digs.
Amy Boswell and Whitney Young each had a match-high seven blocks for BYU.
