LAPOINT, Uintah County — A missing man with a history of dementia was found safe Thursday morning by members of his family, according to the Uintah County Sheriff's Office.

Dean Calvin Bagley, 81, had been listed in a national law enforcement database as missing and endangered after he failed to return home Wednesday night, Uintah County Sheriff's Cpl. Dustin Cheshire said.

Family members who started searching for Bagley at daylight Thursday found him traveling out of the Deep Creek area in Uintah County, Cheshire said.

"It is believed that Dean was possibly involved in a minor single-vehicle accident and he spent the night in his vehicle," Cheshire said.

Bagley is in good condition and is home with his family, the corporal said.
