SALT LAKE CITY — A newlywed Salt Lake couple had their wedding photos stolen while they were on their honeymoon, and the family is offering a reward for the pictures.
The Adkins were married Nov. 15 at Sundance and left shortly after for their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic. Two days later, the vehicle of their wedding photographer was broken into and a backpack with two cameras and three memory cards was stolen, police said. The memory cards contained all the photos from the Adkins wedding.
The groom’s mother, Jennifer Smith, said the family is offering a $2,000 reward to get the photos back before the couple returns from their honeymoon. However, Smith said her son found out about the stolen wedding pictures through Instagram and called her Saturday from the Dominican Republic.
“He said, ‘Did you hear what happened to the wedding pictures?’ ” Smith said. “It was quite emotional. We’re just hoping whoever did take this has a heart big enough to realize how important this is and to be able to return those.”
Smith said the memory cards can be returned, no questions asked, for the reward.
“You look forward to these pictures to be able to have them, be able to enjoy them throughout the years and be able to share them with your grandchildren,” she said.
