PROVO — As an independent, scheduling have proven difficult at times for BYU and games in late November against FCS schools like Savannah State prove it.

The Savannah State Tigers came into the game with an 0-11 record and it was clear early that BYU was going to roll in this game.

The Cougars got out to an early lead and just kept adding to it. QB Christian Stewart had a solid game throwing for nearly 200 yards, four TDs through the air and another two on the ground and he didn’t even play two full quarters.

Mitch Matthews also had a solid game, but back-up running back Nate Carter ran up and down the field and ended the day with 116 yards and a TD.

BYU beat the Tigers 64-0, but fans didn’t get too excited considering it was against arguably the worst team in the FCS. Next up for the Cougars is a road game against Cal to end the regular season.
