PROVO — BYU is getting a small taste of an NBA schedule. On Tuesday, BYU played Arkansas-Little Rock on the front end of a back-to-back. BYU easily dispatched UALR, 91-62, and will prepare for Southern Virginia Wednesday at 7 p.m.

“It’s a good win for us,” said BYU head coach Dave Rose, “and look forward to the next 24 hours and see how our guys will respond and how we can get ready for (Wednesday).”

Chase Fischer led BYU with 19 points and Tyler Haws added 18.

"As we attacked better, I thought the flow of the game was much better," said Rose.

Fischer continues to shoot the ball well from the 3-point line. He made 4-of-7 against UALR and made 4-of-8 in his first game against Long Beach State in the first game of the season.

Haws continues his steady and unselfish play. His 18 points came on 6-of-11 shooting. A top-five scorer last year, Haws has attempted just 25 shots in his first two games, roughly Kobe Bryant’s single-game average. Haws, the deadly mid-range shooter, ignited the crowd with two 2-handed slam dunks.

Rose continues to slowly increase Kyle Collinsworth’s minutes. He played 17 Tuesday and pulled down eight boards, scored five points and handed out six assists.

BYU held the Trojans to 26 percent shooting in the first half and 34 percent for the game.
