SALT LAKE CITY — A 23-year-old man was killed and another man was injured near the area of 1400 South and 700 West where a concert was being held.

According to SLCPD Detective Richard Chipping, the shooting may have been prompted by an altercation in the parking lot.

"Apparently, there was a vehicle that was in the area. Shots were fired from it and the suspects have now fled the area," said Chipping.

Investigators are looking for a black Jeep Cherokee reportedly seen leaving the scene.

"It's really early on at this point. Homicide detectives are en route," Chipping said.
