SALT LAKE CITY — Black Friday seems to begin earlier each year, making its name almost irrelevant.
According to Staten Island Live, 53 percent of retailers started offering holiday deals in September and October, as opposed to last year's 35 percent.
This year, several stores are breaking their own records for when they’ll open the doors to their customers.
Wal-Mart, which will open its doors at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, will offer Black Friday sales for the five days following Thanksgiving, according to The Verge.
On Thanksgiving morning, Wal-Mart customers will be able to purchase select items without leaving their house, The Verge reported.
Items such as smart TVs, laptops and cameras will be available on Wal-Mart’s website.
Best Buy is also joining the fray. More than 1,000 stores will open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, according to The Verge.
Customers can already preview some of Best Buy’s deals on TVs, Apple products and other electronics.

Two California women have already started camping outside Best Buy, so they can be first in line for the sale.
Vickey Torres and Juanita Salas arrived at Best Buy 22 days before Black Friday, according to Banning-Beaumont Patch.
“We could have started later, but then we wouldn’t be sure to get first in line,” Torres told Banning-Beaumont Patch.
Target is also opening its doors at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, which is two hours earlier than they did last year, Syracuse reported.
Target stores will even offer some Black Friday sales the day before Thanksgiving, according to Syracuse.
While some stores only offer Black Friday sales at the end of November, others have deemed the entire month worthy of holiday discounts.
Several stores are currently offering Black Friday deals on their websites.
Amazon and Overstock are both offering Black Friday countdown deals on select items, as are K-Mart and Kohl's.
