ST. GEORGE- For such a young school, winning is quite the tradition for Desert Hills football.
The Thunder climbed to their fourth consecutive state semifinal appearance with a 56-13 victory over Bear River, in a second-round playoff game in St. George.
Desert Hills opened the game with charge, scoring 28 points in the first quarter. First, Gabe Sewell scored on a 57-yard run to give the Thunder a 7-0 lead one minute into the game. Then, quarterback Nick Warmsley scored on a three-yard run.

Sewell scored on a 19-yard run later in the quarter, and receiver Bridger Cowdin caught a 61-yard pass from Warmsley.
The Thunder continued the scoring in the second quarter, as Mason Palmer scored on a five-yard pass. Bear River got on the scoreboard with 6:42 left in the half, as Cole Fronk caught a 13-yard pass from Walker Riley, bringing the score to 35-7. Desert Hills would score once more in the half, on a 25-yard run by Cowdin.
The Bears opened the scoring in the second half, as Bridger Beus caught a ten-yard pass from Riley. However, Warmsley responded with a 43-yard keeper to reclaim a 49-13 lead.
Cowdin also scored a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
