PLEASANT VIEW, Weber County — Two people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck Friday morning.

Around 11 a.m., a truck headed northbound on U.S. 89 turned west on 2700 North into the path of a southbound Kawasaki road bike carrying a man and a woman, Pleasant View police Chief Ryan Handley said.

The crash seriously injured the driver of the motorcycle, Richard Kone, 61, and his female passenger. Both sustained leg and torso injuries, Handley said. Kone, a Roy resident, was transported via medical helicopter to McKay-Dee Hospital. The female passenger, who authorities have not yet identified, was transported by ambulance.

The truck driver, Michael Haas, 51, and his passenger were uninjured in the crash, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Police said there was no indication of drug or alcohol impairment.

The intersection was closed for about two hours while crews cleared the roadway.
