SALT LAKE CITY — A judge has rescheduled a hearing in the criminal case against former Utah Attorneys General John Swallow and Mark Shurtleff.

Third District Judge Elizabeth Hruby-Mills will now hear arguments on several motions Dec. 12. Attorneys for both men asked her to push back the hearing from the original Nov. 7 date.

Shurtleff and Swallow, whom prosecutors consider to be co-defendants, want separate preliminary hearings and trials. They also asked the judge to require the state to specifically outline the charges. Shurtleff has also filed a motion to dismiss the charges against him.

Prosecutors oppose those motions.

Swallow and Shurtleff face multiple felony charges related to bribery, accepting gifts and pattern of unlawful activity. Both men have maintained their innocence.
