BOX ELDER COUNTY — Investigators say fatigue or distraction may have contributed to a fatal rollover crash Tuesday.

Brittney S. Zamora, 24, of Pocatello, Idaho, was driving west on I-84 about 2:30 p.m. when her car, a 2001 Dodge Neon, drifted toward the median, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry said.

Zamora overcorrected back to the right, crossing both lanes of traffic and driving off the right side of the road.

“(The vehicle) rolled in the dirt, and as she rolled she was ejected and the vehicle landed on top of her, killing her,” said UHP Lt. Lee Perry.

Zamora was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to investigators.

“It’s another case of failure to wear a seatbelt and possible distraction or fatigued driving leading to a fatality in our state,” Perry said.

Zamora was alone in the car at the time of the crash, and no other cars were hit. The accident occurred about 19 miles west of Snowville.

Investigators believe Zamora was either fatigued or distracted by a cellphone when she crashed, Perry said.
