SALT LAKE — Salt Lake City was recently named one of the top 20 cities for men and women in their 20’s to live, according to Greatist.
Most young adults are looking for cheap rent, a good job market, and great public transportation, Greatist reports, and millennials prefer to live in cities, according to Nielsen.
One in six residents of Salt Lake are in their 20s, and the city offers low living cost, a low unemployment rate and cool restaurants and hang-outs to boot, Greatist reports.
Whether you’re a student at the University of Utah, a resident of the city or a tourist, here is a list of places that attract a young adult crowd.
Gallivan Center
The John W. Gallivan Utah Center houses a large grassy amphitheatre, an outdoor ice rink, a unique art scene and a two-story, copper finished banquet, party and meeting facility. Most Gallivan Center events, such as concerts, cultural performances and holiday celebrations are either free or inexpensive.

Salt Lake Film Society
The Salt Lake Film Society is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 to save the Tower Theatre. Brother and sister co-founders Paul and Kris Liacopoulos restored the Tower Theatre to ensure a diversity of independent cinema for the Salt Lake community. SLFS provides more than 12,000 opportunities each year for visitors to enjoy the cinema experience at the historic Tower and central business district Broadway Centre Cinemas.

Gilgal Sculpture Garden includes 12 original sculptures and more than 70 stones engraved with scriptures, poems, and philosophical texts created by Thomas Child in the mid-20th century. Hidden behind a house in a quiet neighborhood, the sculptures are inspired by Child’s beliefs in The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints, although they are not typical LDS art. For example, one of the sculptures is comprised of LDS President Joseph Smith’s head on the body of a sphinx.

Liberty Park
Liberty Park offers a wide-variety of outdoor activities including walking and running paths, a swimming pool, paddle boats and tennis courts. The athletic crowd can find enjoyment in physical activity while the artsy group can find inspiration in the vast landscape of the park. The park hosts several community events, and visitors can also wander around Tracy Aviary, which houses more than 400 birds.

The Cathedral of the Madeleine
The Cathedral of the Madeleine, which was built in 1909, is the mother church for Roman Catholics in Utah and its architecture looks as if it belongs in Europe. The Choir of the Cathedral sings a wide variety of historical music, including Gregorian chant to present day music. A variety of musical concerts are hosted in the Cathedral, free of charge.

City Creek Center
The City Creek shopping center was awarded "Best Retail Development in the Americas” by the International Property Awards in 2012. City Creek houses more than 100 stores and restaurants in an open, aesthetically pleasing setting. The mall offers a fully retractable glass roof fit for all seasons and an hourly fountain show.
