WINTERVILLE — Winter will soon be upon us, which obviously means an endless supply on snow. And if you live close to the mountains, it’s not necessarily a bad thing if you ski or snowboard.
Ski/snowboard movies are big business, and for good reason. Watching talented athletes showcase their skills with beautiful cinematic production is hard not to be attracted to. And while there are several great winter videos out there, Sweetgrass Productions may have created one of the coolest in the latest video called “Afterglow.”
The video features skiers in complete darkness in British Columbia, Canada and Alaska. The skiers were fitted with LED-lit jumpsuits, and awesomeness ensued.
Director Nick Waggoner told Outside Magazine the per-minute cost was double what the company usually spends on a film. But Waggoner added that Sweetgrass was able to afford it because the video is intended to also be a commercial for Philips’s new Ambilight TV.
Whatever the video is for, it’s pretty impressive.
