MIDVALE (AP) — An Idaho man was struck and killed by a car while running across Interstate 15 in the Salt Lake City area after a vehicle in which he was riding ran out of gas.
The Utah Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Victor Muller of Idaho Falls was returning with gas he obtained at a nearby service station when he was hit by a car traveling about 65 mph in Midvale on Friday night.
Troopers say a friend and child were waiting for him to return to the vehicle when he was struck in the southbound lanes about 10:30 p.m.
Muller was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorist escaped injury.
