WEST VALLEY CITY — A serious traffic accident shut down part of northbound Bangerter Highway Tuesday morning and left one person critically injured.
Sgt. Chad Evans of the West Valley City Police Department said a male driver and a female passenger were turning left at the intersection of 3500 South and Bangerter around 11:20 p.m. Monday when a northbound car ran the red light and hit them.
The man was in critical condition after he was thrown from his truck.
Evans said it appears neither one of the people in the truck were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the car and the passenger in the truck were also injured but were expected to be OK.
