ST. GEORGE- Pine View quarterback Kody Wilstead knew a road game versus rival Dixie would be a challenge.

However, challenges can provide great opportunities for players, and Wilstead did. The senior threw five touchdown passes, as the Panthers beat the Flyers, 42-36, at Walt Brooks Field in St. George.

Dixie opened the game’s scoring early in the first quarter, with Bret Barben taking a 65-yard pass from Ammon Takau for a touchdown. Pine View countered immediately, as Jaden Peterson scored on a two-yard run to tie the game at 7-7. The Panthers took a 14-7 lead to end the first quarter, as Blake Ence scored on an 11-yard pass from Wilstead.

The Flyers tied the game early in the second quarter though, as Konner Aitken scored on a one-yard run that made the score 14-14. However, Ence caught a 20-yard pass from Wilstead to give the Panthers a 21-14 halftime lead.
