GRANTSVILLE RESERVOIR — A teenager was transported to the hospital after an ATV accident at Grantsville Reservoir Sunday evening.

A 13-year-old girl was riding an ATV with her family. At around 6:30 p.m., the girl’s mother was riding behind her, and when they went around a corner bend, the mother discovered her daughter on the ground, according to Tooele County Sheriff’s deputy Nicholas Yale.

The girl was wearing a helmet at the time, but the helmet was off and the ATV was on its top next to the girl when she was discovered, according to Yale.

Though she was unconscious when she was found, she was conscious, breathing and alert by the time the medical helicopter arrived, Yale said.

The girl was transported via helicopter to Primary Children’s hospital. Her condition is unknown.

The girl’s identity was not disclosed.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
