WEST JORDAN — A 17-year-old girl was flown to the hospital in critical condition after a two-car crash.
The accident occurred Wednesday evening in the intersection of 9000 South and Grizzly Way, said Sgt. Joe Monson of the West Jordan Police Department.
The 17-year-old was driving a Honda passenger car northbound and a 29-year-old male was driving Dodge pickup eastbound when they collided in the intersection, according to Monson.
"They collided in the intersection and the car spun off and hit the north (cement barrier) wall of 9000 South," Monson said.
Monson said the impact was "substantial." The teen had to be extricated from her vehicle, but the driver of the truck had minor injures.
Neither driver had passengers in their vehicles.
The details of how the accident occurred were unclear Wednesday evening, and the investigation is ongoing, Monson said.
More information will be posted when it becomes available.
