PROVO — Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney will speak at a Brigham Young University forum, the school announced Wednesday.

He is scheduled to speak at the forum Nov. 18. BYU hosts six forums each school year where experts from various fields speak to students and the community. BYU has invited other politicians to speak at its forums in the past, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

Other speakers for the 2014-15 school year include Ed Catmull, the president of Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studios, and Vali Nasr, an expert of the Islamic world and Middle East policies.

David Pershing, the current president of the University of Utah, will also speak at BYU on March 24.

Mickey Edwards, a former congressman from Oklahoma and founder of the Heritage Foundation, and Jim Leach, a former chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, were also announced as forum speakers.

The public is welcome to attend all BYU forums.
