HARTFORD, CONN. — College football is finally here and BYU decided to kick off the season in convincing fashion.
The Cougars took on the UConn Huskies in Connecticut and BYU rolled.
Junior quarterback Taysom Hill had an impressive night both on the ground and through the air.
Greg Welch made sure to point out Hill's impressive numbers in the first half.
Taysom Hill 17/20 for 196 and 2 TD. A NCAA passer rating of 200.32. That'll do. — Greg Welch (@ArtDirectorBYU) August 30, 2014
The Cougars quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half and it all but wiped away the nightmare that was last year's opener at Virginia.

Hill kept his impressive game up for all four quarters and finished with 97 yards rushing and two TD's on the ground with an additional 308 through the air and three TD's.
His impressive numbers turned some heads.

While Hill played well the story of the game was the penalties.
BYU had 15 penalties for 150 yards, many coming on bug plays. UConn even had eight penalties for 90 yards. That's 240 total yards from penalties alone. The game seemed to drag on and Twitter noticed.

The Cougars had moments of brilliance, but their game was also sloppy and they managed to go scoreless in the third quarter after scoring 28 in the first half. BYU will need to clean up their game before they head to Austin next week.
BYU will take on the Texas Longhorns next Saturday in Austin, Texas.
