Ingela Tanne Forest was at her home when a rainbow appeared in the sky near the edge of Lake Storuma after a storm. Forest was filming the idyllic beauty when, quick as you please, lightning struck a transformer about 50 meters, or 165 feet, from her home, according to Regionalt.
The result is both frightening and incredible. The loud boom and force have an impressive effect, and the camera shakes, tumbles and cuts off abruptly after the strike.
But instead of being a cool story about a close call, the damage of the strike has become a true life hassle for Forest. She told Regionalt that all the electricals in her home, from the appliances to the internal wiring, had to be repaired or replaced. On top of which, she doesn’t know if her insurance will cover any of the damage because of the age of her electrical system.
Even though the results are unfortunate, no one was reportedly hurt. And we get to experience the awe that this display of pure power inspires, all from the relative safety found in front of a computer screen.
