MAGNA — A man was arrested Wednesday morning, becoming the fourth person taken into custody in connection with a stabbing in Magna Friday.

Unified police detective Jared Richardson said Cody Johnson, 26, was arrested around 8 a.m. in Kearns. Johnson was located after an anonymous tip was sent to Adult Probation and Parole with information about his location, Richardson said. Johnson had two knives and a small amount of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest, according to booking documents.

Johnson was transported by officers to the Unified Police Department where he was questioned by police for several hours. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of parole or probation violation, aggravated assault, weapons violation and possession of a controlled substance.

The stabbing occurred Friday around 11:45 p.m. near 3282 S. 7780 West, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that two men had been stabbed. Both were taken to a local hospital. One man, 30, was in critical condition and the other, 28, was in serious condition, police said.

The incident began when two men pulled into the driveway of the residence and observed several people in the front yard. The two asked the people why they were there which led to a verbal argument and then a physical fight that left the two victims stabbed, police said.

Saturday, police arrested Jeremy Crowther and Derrek Andrews, both 23, and booked them into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of two counts of aggravated assault. Crowther was also booked on a warrant.

A 16-year-old girl was also booked into the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center on Saturday for investigation of two counts of aggravated assault.
