SALT LAKE CITY — Many children and teens around the state have either already returned to school or will this week.

For some parents, it’s a difficult thing to see those kiddos go off and learn, be independent and make new friends. But for others, the summer of endless child rearing — what are we going to do today that’s different from yesterday? — has finally come to an end. It’s okay to let out a sigh of relief; you’ve made it. Finally!

To share in the range of emotions involved in children returning to school one family decided to parody Sir Mix A Lot’s “Baby Got Back” — don’t pretend you’ve never heard of it (or are singing it right now) — with their rendition of “Baby Got Class.”

Now before you get too excited about watching this parody, I’ll have you know it’s a bit cheesy — okay, a lot of cheesy. But really, isn’t every parody song out there really cheesy — we’re looking at you Weird Al.

Whether you like the rendition or not, there are some serious nuggets of truth in the parody. So enjoy the song (if you want) and embrace the return of the school year for now, because summer will be here again faster than you know it.

And thank you teachers for being there for our kids. It's a thankless job that deserves a lot of respect.
