PROVO — Police are asking for help to locate a man who robbed Goldsmith Jewelers Friday.

A man entered Goldsmith Jewelers at 120 N. University Avenue around 2:32 p.m., according to Provo police Lt. Matt Siufanua.

“The clerk was showing the individual some merchandise at which time the subject grabbed the merchandise, ran outside and jumped in a black Ford F-150,” he said.

The truck was seen traveling north, according to investigators. Police believe the man then stopped at about 200 North and 300 East and got into a tan Cadillac SUV. Police said they are looking for both vehicles and their drivers.

The robber was described as being a caucasian man who is 5 foot, 11 inches tall and about 40 years old. Investigators said he had tattoos on his fingers.

“We had two descriptions of the shirt. One (witness) said it was blue shirt on, another witness said he had a pink shirt with jeans, but it is very common for these individuals to change clothes right after a robbery has occurred,” Siufanua said.

There were no weapons used during the robbery and no one was hurt, he said.

Those with information about the man or the robbery can contact the Provo Police Department at 801-852-7400.
