LOGAN — Police arrested three juveniles and are still looking for one in connection with a burglary at Logan High School.
Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge said the burglary occurred Aug. 14 around 12 a.m. Logan High School is currently under construction and Budge said the lobby was open at the time of the burglary.
Budge said the teens caused thousands of dollars of damage to the school after discharging fire extinguishers in the building. The juveniles also stole thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment, Budge said.
Police posted surveillance photos to their Facebook page on Aug. 15 and identified the juveniles after a tip from a community member. One of the teens was located and arrested Tuesday. Two more were arrested Wednesday and Friday morning. One juvenile is still outstanding, but Budge said police have identified him.
The three teens were arrested without incident and booked into the Cache County Juvenile Center. The teens, ages 16, 16, 17, and 15 years old, all have extensive criminal histories and one was located with assistance from his probation officer, Budge said.
“This wasn’t just a typical last hoorah of some high school kids doing a prank,” he said. “They caused a lot of damage and they stole a lot of valuable property. We are very thankful to the community who were so willing to assist us so quickly. It’s amazing how much information we got.”
