SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK — A filmmaker coupled beautiful images of sequoias with orchestral music to create a dramatic timelapse of one of our national parks.

Setting equipment up in King's Canyon, Gavin Heffernan caught hours of beautiful footage, enveloping viewers in a approximately 24-hour experience of Sequoia National Park.

Starting the video in the daytime, you see the park's colors and characteristics, but the nighttime shots make the humongous trees look more looming than they do during the day.

Heffernan uses the campfire to create some interesting lighting, giving the trees yet another effect. And, the breaking dawn quiets the skies and softens the harshness of the sequoias' outlines.

I don't know about you, but this video stirs up a desire to sleep under the stars before the summer ends.
