WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley City police are looking for a man who they say stole items from golfers at Stonebridge Golf Club.

Police said the victims were golfing at the course, which is located at 4415 Links Drive, last month. When they returned to their golf cart, several items including cellphones, wallets, keys and golf equipment were missing.

The golfers told police they didn't see anyone in the area, although some witnesses reported seeing a newer-model, maroon four-door Toyota Tacoma in the area. Police found the empty golf cart in a tunnel on the golf course.

Police believe the suspect parked at the golf course and waited until he saw an unattended golf cart. Witnesses report seeing a 2005 or newer maroon 4 door Toyota Tacoma, police said.

Surveillance cameras show a man who used one of the stolen credit cards to buy power tools at a Lowe's store after the theft.

Anyone with information should call the West Valley City Police Department at 801-840-4000.
