LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A man who pulled out a gun in a North Logan hospital and was shot by police has pleaded guilty to felony counts of aggravated assault and a weapons charge.
Court records show 34-year-old Jason James Burr pleaded guilty to three charges Wednesday.
Prosecutors dropped five other weapons and attempted robbery charges in exchange for the guilty pleas.
The Herald Journal in Logan reports both sides stopped an evidence hearing Wednesday and made the deal.
Burr will be sentenced Sept. 15.
Authorities say Burr entered the Cache Valley Hospital in May brandishing two handguns and threatening to shoot if he didn't get prescription drugs.
He was shot three times after he was confronted by two officers accompanying an inmate to the hospital.
