THE GLADE — A new trailer for a movie based on Utah author James Dashner’s best-selling novel “The Maze Runner” was released Tuesday.

More of the mysteries of the Glade, an area surrounded by stone walls that is populated by boys who have no recollection of how they got there, are unfolded in the new trailer. The movie opens on Sept. 19.

Some of the footage is the same as the first trailer, which was released in March, but the new preview does a good job introducing those who haven’t read the book to the threats of a maze the boys face daily.

Dashner, who is based in Utah and attended Brigham Young University, said he is pleased with the way the movie has turned out.

“Fox has treated me like an important part of this process from the very beginning,” Dashner said at a San Diego Comic-Con press conference, according to Hypable. “You know, from the very beginning I consulted on the script, and (director) Wes (Ball) and I spoke a lot about questions, especially regarding the fans and reactions to certain scenes.”

“The Maze Runner” is the first part of a trilogy.
