SALEM, Utah County — One man died and another three suffered minor injuries in a crash on state Route 164 Tuesday afternoon, Utah Highway Patrol said.

At 1:05 p.m., a man making a left turn in a Buick pulled out in front of a Ford Focus at a stop sign located at 460 West and 2000 North, and the Focus hit the Buick broadside, according to UHP.

The man driving the Buick, Darryl Roberts, died of his injuries, and the three people traveling in the Focus were transported to Mountain View Hospital with minor injuries.

UHP said Roberts was not wearing his seat belt, and the air bag in his Buick did not deploy.

The driver of the Focus, Shayna Hubbard, and the two passengers were properly restrained with seat belts, according to UHP.

Weather may have been a factor, as it was raining at the time of the accident, but there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene, UHP said.

More information will be posted when it's available.
