SANDY — Police are seeking a man who allegedly robbed a gas station and a Little Caesars Pizza at gunpoint within one week.

The first robbery occurred on July 15 around 11 p.m. at the Conoco gas station at 8612 S. 1300 East, according to Sandy City police. A man entered the gas station and pulled a black handgun from his waistband, police said. The robber approached the clerk and demanded money while threatening to shoot. He left the gas station with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police believe the same man robbed a Little Caesars Pizza at 7890 S. 1300 East on July 20. The man entered the restaurant around 11:30 p.m. and again pulled a black handgun from his waistband, police said. He demanded money from the cash register and fled on foot after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.

Police described the man as a Hispanic in his early 20s, around 5 feet 3 inches tall with a skinny build. During both robberies, the man was wearing a distinctive hoodie with a black to white gradient pattern and red horizontal stripes in the center. Video surveillance showed the hoodie cinched up covering the majority of the man's face during the robberies.

At the time of the gas station robbery, the man was wearing blue tattered jeans, black gloves and black shoes. During the Little Caesars Pizza robbery, the man was wearing blue jeans and red converse shoes. Police said the clothing appeared too large for the man.

Anyone with information about the robberies or the alleged robber can contact Sandy City Police at 801-568-7100.
