SALT LAKE CITY — University of Utah police are asking the community to be alert and report any suspicious activity following a robbery on campus Tuesday morning.

At approximately 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, a man approached the cashier at the Eccles Health Sciences Education Building bookstore on the U. of U. campus. The man claimed he had a gun in his backpack and demanded the cashier to give him the money in the register. The cashier gave the man the money and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male about 20-30 years old. He is taller than 5’9’’ with a skinny build and has short reddish-brown hair. He was wearing a baggy T-shirt with a rip on the right shoulder and brown skinny jeans with white tennis shoes and dark sunglasses. He was also carrying a black messenger bag.
