LAS VEGAS — Michael Jordan wasn’t the first person to dunk from the free-throw line or from even further back, as some may argue (with tongue planted firmly in cheek). He definitely was, however, the flashiest.

It seems apropos, then, that high-schooler Shelby McEwen amazed the crowd at the Jordan Brand’s “First to Fly” Air Jordan XX9 experience in Las Vegas.

The incoming senior from Oxford High School in Oxford, Mississippi, won the dunk contest by leaping from the free-throw line and dunking the ball.

As soon as McEwen dunked the ball, he immediately busted out his dance moves. The crowd cheered him on.

According to MaxPreps.com, McEwen averaged 12.7 points per game in three games. While he might not have been on the radar last season, he may have a bigger audience after his “Air Jordan” moment.
